For their first meeting of the competition, the Bolivians will present themselves on July 17 at the Parque Central with each one a silk letter sewn on their jersey, forming once the team lined up for the photo the phrase “Viva Uruguay” in thanks to the organizers . They lost 4-0 and were also defeated in their second match against Brazil 4-0. Diogenes Lara's jersey featuring the letter "V" is made of cotton with a lace-up collar!

Diógenes Lara ( Muela , Punata Province , Cochabamba , April 6, 1903 – September 16, 1968) was a Bolivian footballer , coach , soldier and teacher . He played as a midfielder , and was part of the Bolivian team that participated in the 1930 Soccer World Cup in Uruguay .
He participated as a player his entire career in the New Players of Cochabamba , 1 of which he was one of its founders. He also participated in several teams from Cochabamba.
He was international with the Bolivian national team, and was part of the squad that played in the 1926 South American Championships in Santiago , 1927 in Lima , and the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay. In 1946 he coached Bolivia in that year's South American Championship in Buenos Aires
