Francisco Mateucci ( Francisco Mateucci ; May 16, 1903 , Montevideo  - April 14, 1995 ) - Uruguayan football referee . Worked at matches of the first World Championship .

As the chief referee, he officiated at the match between the national teams of Yugoslavia and Bolivia  . At 27 years old, Mateucci was the youngest judge at the tournament

At the first FIFA World Cup tournament in 1930, Francisco Mateucci also played 2 matches as a linesman.

On July 14, in the Romania-Peru match, he, together with the Belgian John Langenus, was an assistant to referee Alberto Warnken from Chile. In that match, for the first time in the history of the World Cup, a football player was sent off from the field (Peruvian Placido Galindo ). Also in the Romania-Peru match, the first goal in the history of the World Cup was recorded, scored in the first minute of the match (Romanian scorer Adalbert Deshu in the 50th second).

On July 20, in the match Brazil - Bolivia, Francisco Mateucci and Gaspar Vallejo (Mexico) were linesmen, the match was refereed by Frenchman Georges Balve . In this match, the pair of linesmen turned out to be the youngest in the history of FIFA World Cup tournaments - Mexican Gaspar Vallejo was 28 full years old.

FIFA erroneously indicates that Mateucci was a linesman in the Belgium-USA match on July 13. But all the documents, newspaper reports, and most importantly, photos of the referees before the match with the team captains  clearly indicate that one of the linesmen in that match was another Uruguayan referee, namely the head of the Uruguayan Referees Association Gualberto Alonso . The match was refereed by Argentinean Jose Macias , the second linesman was Chilean Alberto Warnken .
