This honorary medal was gifted only to FIFA World Youth Golden Ball 1979 Player, Diego Maradona. This unique, single piece, and never sewn was Gifted by FIFA and main FIFA World Youth 1979 Sponsor, ADIDAS!

This was the tournament Maradona played a crucial role for Argentina, standing as one-half of a dynamic duo (with Ramón Díaz) that provided a consistent scoring threat that challenged any and every nations' back line. Sure enough, both Maradona and Díaz proved to be difference makers in the final, with each netting their own goals five minutes apart as Argentina emerged victorious to the score of 3-1.


The gold medal features a twin soccer ball design in the appearance of globes. "JAPAN 1979 FIFA WORLD YOUTH TOURNAMENT FOR THE COCA-COLA CUP" is engraved around the edge of the medal in gold lettering. The reverse side of the medal features an image of the Coca-Cola Cup. The medal displays a lightly circulated manner of appearance and comes in a leather drawstring pouch.
