Ramón Alberto Aguirre Suárez ( Colombres, Tucumán , Argentina , October 18, 1944 - La Plata , Argentina , May 29, 2013) was an Argentine footballer. He played as a defender and was famous for his strong marking style. He was a member of the multi-champion Estudiantes de La Plata team between 1966 and 1971.
Aguirre Suárez arrived from Tucumán to join the lower divisions of Estudiantes de La Plata , from where he went on to play in the First Division in 1966, a club where he won the Metropolitan tournament in 1967 , the Copa Libertadores de América in 1968 , 1969 and 1970 (against Palmeiras, Nacional and Peñarol), the Intercontinental Cup in 1968 (against Manchester United) and the Inter-American Cup in 1969 (against Toluca). 1 2
He then played for Granada FC in Spain between 1971 and 1974. At Club Salamanca , season 1974 and 1975 and finally retired in 1977 for Club Atlético Lanús .
