Story:
in 2006, Independiente defeated River 2-1 in a Summer Classic that had a brilliant “Kun” Agüero as a star and top scorer. The King of Cups, who had fought until the end of the 2005 Apertura, made his debut on January 11, 2006 in the Summer Pentagon Tournament facing River Plate.Led by Julio Cesar Falcioni, he would take to the field with the following eleven: Oscar Alfredo Ustari; Martin Albano Pautasso, David Angel Abraham, Fernando Gabriel Caceres, Eduardo Rodrigo Dominguez; Gaston Machin, Mariano Andres Herron, Lucas Rodrigo Biglia; Emiliano Daniel Armenteros; Sergio Leonel Aguero, Eduardo Ariel Bustos Montoya.
River started off winning with a goal from Loeschbor, after an inopportune rebound. Independiente continued to grow thanks to Sergio Agüero, who had already given warning in the first few minutes.
At 25 minutes, “Kun” receives the ball outside the area and scores a great goal, with a great technical touch, over Lux. Agüero himself, who was playing injured, would come close to increasing the score, while at the same time getting Ricardo Rojas sent off the field.
At around 38, good pressure from the red players led to a pass from “Kun” Agüero who, after hooking first inside and then outside, left four River players in his path before finishing with his left foot, against the goalkeeper's first post, to score another great goal.
This second goal would be applauded by River's substitute players, by the San Lorenzo team that watched the match from the stands and by all the public present who asked for him for the Argentine National Team (the 2006 World Cup in Germany was coming up and Kun, a figure in Argentine football, was one of the most requested players but he would not be taken into account by Pekerman).
Agüero would be replaced at the end and applauded by the crowd, even River fans.
