Roberto Luis Oste ( Río Cuarto , Córdoba province , Argentina , May 30, 1970), better known as Lute Oste , is a former Argentine footballer who played as a forward.

Lute Oste began his career at Atlanta , with whom he would soon achieve promotion to the National B , and then went on to play for Defensa y Justicia . He then played for the recently promoted Nueva Chicago , where he had great success.

Oste's good seasons in the second division earned him the jump to the first division. He played for San Lorenzo de Almagro , and then went abroad to join Emelec , with whom he would also have his only participation in the Copa Libertadores .

He returned to the country to play for Deportivo Español and later returned to the B Nacional to play for Huracán de Corrientes , a team that was incorporated into the tournament that season and won the championship.

After a brief stint at Belgrano in 1996, he continued his career at Talleres , where he won the 1997/98 Championship again and left a very good impression on the Albiazul fans, scoring the memorable goal in the penalty shootout with which the "matador" beat their classic rival Belgrano and achieved promotion to the First Division. He then moved to Banfield , where he did not have much participation at the beginning of the season. He debuted on matchday 20, scoring a goal against Deportivo Morón . 2 His career would take him to three more clubs in the Primera B Nacional: Aldosivi , Godoy Cruz and Juventud Antoniana.
