Sergio Silvano Maciel (* 7 December 1965 in Gregorio de Laferrere ; † 4 August 2008 ) was an Argentine football player .

Sergio Maciel began his career at General Lamadrid. He moved from his native Argentina from Deportivo Armenio , where he achieved promotion to the Primera División , to German Bundesliga club FC Homburg for the 1989/90 season . Maciel was the first Argentine Bundesliga regular in Bundesliga history. At Homburg, he played alongside fellow countryman Rodolfo Cardoso . At the end of the season, Maciel was the second best goalscorer, behind Lothar Dittmer , but the seven goals scored in 30 games could not prevent Homburg from being relegated. Maciel played for one year for Homburg in the 2. Bundesliga , moved to Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin , where he played for another year in Liga 2, before playing for three more years at Homburg. He then returned to his homeland and played for Estudiantes de La Plata , CA San Lorenzo de Almagro and Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta , as well as in Spain for CD Toledo. He was former Argentina National Team during 1989!
