THE MOST AWAITED RETURN! In February 18, 1993, Diego Maradona returned to play for the Argentina! Gifted DIRECTLY to Diego Maradona AFA CENTENARY PLAQUE vs Brazil National Team! Stunning Piece!

*Provenance: Former AFA 1993 Secretary plus ID*

After that tearful final at Rome's Olympic Stadium, we had to wait more than two and a half years to see Diego Maradona again in the Argentina national team jersey . In between, there was anger with the AFA, a doping ban in Italy that kept him out of football for 15 months, and a team that was winning without the number 10.

In any case, as part of the AFA Centenary Cup, Coco Basile selected him for the friendly against Brazil at the Monumental.   Argentina had just won the 1991 Copa América and the 1992 King Fahd Cup (later renamed the Confederations Cup), and Maradona arrived to bolster a team that was frightening with great individual talents, such as Gabriel Batistuta, Claudio Caniggia, and Diego Simeone, among others.

Finally, on February 18, 1993, Maradona returned, having enjoyed his best days with Carlos Bilardo's Sevilla. The score was 1-1, with a goal from Alejandro Mancuso, but the most significant outcome was the presence of the greatest footballer of all time.

A few days later, following a scandal with Andalusian President Luis Cuervas, Maradona had the pleasure of lifting his last trophy with the Albiceleste after defeating Denmark , the reigning European champions, in a penalty shootout for the Artemio Franchi Cup in Mar del Plata.
