Story:

On July 14, 1968, Vélez and River Plate were playing, and fate united two of the greatest players Argentine football has ever produced.

On one side was River Plate's 41-year-old goalkeeper, Amadeo Carrizo. With him in goal, Los Millonarios won the championships in 1945, 1952, 1953, 1955, 1956, and 1957.

On the other side was Carlos Bianchi, an 18-year-old substitute striker for Vélez. He had recently scored his first goal in the first division. By the end of his career, he would score 369.

Before the match, Amadeo had kept a clean sheet in his last eight matches (Central, Tigre, Huracán, Chacarita, Argentinos Juniors, Boca Juniors, Gimnasia, and Independiente) and was just 21 minutes away from surpassing Antonio Roma's national record for unbeaten runs. Carrizo would eventually surpass the record, and Carlos Bianchi would be the executioner, setting the mark at 769 minutes, with a header to equalize for the Liniers side, who ultimately won the match.
