Luis Adolfo Galván ( Fernández , Santiago del Estero , February 24, 1948 - Córdoba , May 5, 2025) was an Argentine footballer who played as a defender . He was capped by the Argentina national football team and won the 1978 FIFA World Cup .He was a player for C. A. Talleres de Córdoba, being the player with the most matches in the club's history.

He played his first international match for the Argentine national football team in 1975.

The crowning achievement of his career came in 1978, when he was selected by coach César Luis Menotti to represent the Argentine national team at the 1978 FIFA World Cup . He was also fortunate enough to play in the final of that tournament, at River Plate's Estadio Monumental , where Argentina defeated the Netherlands 3-1 in extra time, thus securing their first World Cup title. In this match, all Argentine media outlets awarded Galván ten points for his brilliant performance.

He was also selected to play in Spain 1982 , but the Albicelestes had a disappointing campaign and were eliminated in the second round of the tournament. He retired from international football a year later, in 1983, at the age of 35, having made 34 appearances for Argentina.
