The Argentine team that trained in parallel with the regular team for several weeks at 2,500 m altitude in preparation to play at the Hernando Siles stadium against Bolivia for qualification for the 1974 World Cup is known as the ghost team .
The match was played on September 23, 1973. It is remembered for being one of the few occasions in which Argentina beat Bolivia as a visitor. The victory left Argentina practically classified for the 1974 World Cup.
