The Carlos Dittborn Pinto Cup was a friendly football tournament named in honor of Carlos Dittborn , who was President of the Chilean Organizing Committee of the 1962 Football World Cup . The tournament was a friendly soccer cup contested between the national soccer teams of Argentina and Chile . The first version dates back to 1962 and was played 9 times, with Argentina winning 8 titles and Chile 1.
It was always played by playing two games, one in each country alternating the home field, with the exception of the 1976 edition, which was only played in Argentina.
