The 1955 Primera División Championship was the twenty-fifth season and the twenty-seventh competition of the professional era of the First Division of Argentina football . It was played from April 30 to December 11, in two rounds of all against all .

The champion was Club Atlético River Plate , which with this achievement began what would later become the first three-time championship in its history, until the AFA decided, in 2013, to recognize the 1936 Gold Cup as an independent title.
