1973 Cebollitas Story & Facts:

Francis Cornejo (the coach) has been working for Argentinos Juniors for twenty years. Buying T-shirts and maintaining equipment with savings from the job that occupies it in the mornings. And although he had several generations of players in his Cebollitas, he is convinced that "the class of 60 formed the best of all the teams we had in Los Cebollitas ..."

In the sports field of Tronador and Bauness streets. Argentinos Juniors organized a quadrangular championship for kids born that year. He invited River, All Boys and Huracán. And seeing the Cebollitas play confirmed Franci's opinion.

As teams are assembled by year of birth, still short boys can be pitted against already monumental physiques. River's team, for example, prefers to include big players rather than skillful ones. The others, fortunately, choose those who tread it best. By identifying with this Argentinos Juniors line, he came to form a marvelous little box. That he beat all the clubs in the AFA when he faced them on the dirt court. Paro who prefers to hit milongas and play in both areas, rather than write the numbers that mark the result of each match in a notebook.

Los Cebollitas won the first game against Huracán and the final against River. Always playing tap. They are a kind of San Lorencito of 68, or Huracancito of 73. And it is not a question of praising the children for the sympathy that age awakens. These kids know a lot. Now, for regulatory reasons, they stop integrating the Cebollitas, to go en masse to the ninth of Argentinos Juniors. When you know they play on a field in the country, go see them and check.
