*FIFA World Cup Japan - Korea Champion! Luis Felipe Scolari 1996 Recopa Sudamericana WINNER'S MEDAL with RIBBON for Gremio (Brazil) vs Independiente (Argentina) Match played at Japan, April 7, 1996!

This medal was gifted  to Considered to be one of the greatest and most successful managers of all time by several pundits, Scolari was a defender during his playing days, and notably represented Caxias before moving to a managerial role in 1982. He lead the Brazil national team to a FIFA World Cup win in 2002 Japan-Korea!

Story: The 1996 Recopa Sudamericana was the eighth Recopa Sudamericana, an annual football match between the winners of the previous season's Copa Libertadores and Supercopa Sudamericana competitions.

The match was contested between Grêmio, winners of the 1995 Copa Libertadores, and defending champions Independiente, winners of the 1995 Supercopa Sudamericana, on April 7, 1996. Grêmio easily dethroned Independiente after a 4-1 thumping in order to consecrate themselves champions of the competition for the first time.
