Rodrigo Javier De Paul ( Sarandi , Buenos Aires province , May 24, 1994) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a midfielder for Atlético de Madrid , in the Primera División of Spain . He has been an international for the Argentina national team since 2018. He was a member of Lionel Scaloni 's squad , where he won the 2021 and 2024 Copa América , the 2022 Conmebol-UEFA Champions Cup and the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar 

His professional career began at Racing Club in 2013. There he was considered one of the great promises that were in the lower divisions of the Tita Mattiussi property along with a group of footballers who managed to have great careers, made up of Luciano Vietto , Ricardo Centurión , Luis Fariña , Bruno Zuculini among others. De Paul, along with those mentioned, were called by the specialized media as "the fantastic five".

Since 2014, he had a stint in Spanish football for two years at Valencia Club de Fútbol ; however, in 2016 he returned to Racing Club on loan to play in the Copa Libertadores . From there, he went on to play in Italian football, at Udinese . In 2022, he was transferred to Atlético de Madrid , where he was an old acquaintance from the Academy , Diego Simeone .
