Stunning Piece of Diego Maradona Last Argentina Title! Never Sewn & Rare Diego Maradona Argentina National Team South American - European Artemio Franchi 1993 CUP FULL TICKET! Maradona vs Laudrup!

Mar del Plata. February 24, 1993. Diego Armando Maradona completed his final lap of honor wearing the Argentine national team jersey . On the number 10, he lifted the Artemio Franchi Cup , which also served to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Argentine Association Football League, the precursor to the AFA.

It was a special match, without a doubt, because it marked Diego's return after a long absence . It's true that he had played a friendly against Brazil a few days earlier, but this Cup marked his official return after the doping case that sidelined him for a long time.

Maradona once again enjoyed this title, his last, with the national team, his great love, receiving the Cup as team captain. The José María Minella stadium cheered him on, unaware that it would be the last time Diego would celebrate a victory with the blue and white on his chest.

After this match, he would be absent for a while wearing the sky blue and white, until the 5-0 against Colombia in the 1994 World Cup Qualifiers in the United States brought him back, in those playoff matches against Australia.

The match pitted Argentina, the 1991 Copa América champion, against Denmark , the 1992 Euro Cup champion.

The Argentine team, led by Alfio Basile, featured Sergio Goycochea; Néstor Craviotto, Jorge Borelli, Sergio Vázquez, and Ricardo Altamirano; Diego Simeone, Alejandro Mancuso, Diego Maradona, and Leonardo Rodríguez; Claudio Caniggia and Gabriel Batistuta.

Denmark did it with: Peter Schmeichel; Marc Rieper, Plechnik (Brian Nielsen), Lars Olsen and Henrik Larsen; Kim Vilfort, Kjeldjerg, Jan Mølby, Lars Elstrup; Bjarne Goldbæk and Michael Laudrup. The coach was Richard Nielsen.

The match was evenly matched, with Denmark taking the lead early on with an own goal from Néstor Craviotto in the 12th minute. However, in the 30th minute, Caniggia scored the equalizer after a deflected shot from Bati, which Caniggia converted into a goal. The final result was a penalty shootout. And with Goyco in goal, Argentina had the advantage. The River Plate goalkeeper had already proven himself at the '90 World Cup as a specialist from the 12-yard line. Denmark had players like Peter Schmeichel and Brian Laudrup, Michael's brother, who had retired from the national team some time earlier.
