José Jorge González Silva n 1 ( Montevideo , June 27, 1944 - Montevideo , May 2, 1991), better known as Negro González , was a Uruguayan footballer who played as a right-back.
He holds the records of being the foreigner with the most games played in the Argentine Primera División and the player with the most appearances in the history of Club Atlético Rosario Central.
he club in the AFA tournaments , presenting competitive teams that regularly fought for the title.By 1970 he had become a mainstay of the first team of Centralista; his sobriety in marking added to his dribbling and great deployment to attack on the right side transformed him into an irreplaceable footballer. He formed a great partnership in that sector of the field with Aldo Poy and Ramón Bóveda . In that year he was crowned runner-up of the National , falling in a controversial final against Boca Juniors . In this way he managed to qualify Central for the 1971 Copa Libertadores , the first participation of Canalla in an official international tournament. In 1971 he managed to be crowned champion of the First Division of Argentina , by obtaining the title of the National . His participation in the semifinal of the tournament was fundamental; Central crossed paths with Newell's Old Boys in that instance, in a match played in the River Plate stadium , designated as neutral ground. González sent a precise cross from the right side of the Central attack at mid-height for Aldo Poy to connect with a header and score the only goal of the match and the subsequent qualification to the final; three days later Central was crowned champion of the First Division for the first time in its history by defeating San Lorenzo de Almagro 2-1, with Bili present as a starter. Continuing with his great level of play, he was crowned again in the 1973 National Championship , with the team led by Carlos Timoteo Griguol . He played all 18 of his team's matches in the competition. In 1974 he was runner-up in the two tournaments of the year ( Metropolitan and National ).
He continued his career at Vélez Sarsfield , a club where he played 80 matches. He was runner-up in the 1979 Metropolitano and played in the 1980 Copa Libertadores , reaching the semi-finals. In a first phase match against River Plate, he suffered a sneaky elbow from the millionaire player Daniel Passarella .
With 565 matches (487 in Rosario Central and 78 in Vélez Sarsfield), El Negro González is the foreigner with the highest number of appearances in the Argentine Primera División ; he also occupies 8th place in the general table.
