Story:
On October 7, 1995, Diego Armando Maradona starred in one of the most emotional chapters of his extraordinary career, when he made the long-awaited return to his beloved Boca , on the occasion of a match against Colón that ended in a 1-0 victory, on the opening day of the Apertura tournament and that had La Bombonera at the feet of the idol.
The team was managed by Silvio Marzolini, a club legend who passed away this year and who had also led the team to the 1981 title. Then, in 1982 and after the World Cup in Spain, Diego left for Europe but the love affair did not end. On the contrary, the Xeneize people gave him love from afar and celebrated his successes as their own, especially during his time at Napoli in Italy and fundamentally when he dazzled the world at the Mexico '86 World Cup wearing the Argentina national team shirt.
That match was also immortalized by the strong clash between Maradona and Julio Toresani. The play originated in a violent tackle by Claudio Caniggia on Dante Unali, which provoked Toresani's reaction against the "Son of the Wind." That's when Diego appeared on the scene, inviting him to fight and later, in the locker room, immortalized the phrase "I'll wait for you at Segurola and Habana", the address where he lived in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Villa Devoto.
