Juan Carlos Murúa ( Misiones , July 17, 1935 - March 26, 2023) 1 was an Argentine footballer and football technical director .
A great defender, he won the Copa América with the Argentine national team and was remembered for nullifying the Brazilian Mané Garrincha.
Murúa was a member of the National Team led by Victorio Spinetto and won the South American Championship in '59. That year two editions were played: the first was in the hands of the albiceleste and the second was for Uruguay.
Murúa won the Copa América in 1959 with Argentina, shone in Racing where he was champion in 1958 and also played for Argentinos Juniors and Platense.
